So i t's time for a mournful, vengeful Max to rumble.Ĭhoose your car or bike or hacksaw and head out on the highway, looking for adventure and any bikie creep who comes your way … as the now really mad Mad Max takes out Hugh Keays-Byrne in stunt-laden style, and as a final gesture, handcuffs Johnny the Boy (Tim Burns) to a car and leaves him with a clear choice. The gang strikes back hard, taking out Jessie and baby Sprog, despite the shot-gun wielding efforts of caliper-clad May (Sheila Florance). When she fights back with an icecream in the face and a knee to the Toecutter's groin, and a fast getaway with a bikie's forearm still attached to her vehicle, it's war. Tired of his job, and sickened by the sight of the cooked goose, Max tries to resign, but Fifi insists he heads off to the beach to take a break.īut there can't be any rest, not when the bikies terrorise Max's wife, sweet Jessie (Joanne Samuel). Things look bad when the hoodlums take out the Goose in a callous act of pyromania. That shifts attention to the Toecutter (Hugh Keays-Byrne) and his disreputable bike-riding gang, who do all the usual naughty things, including strutting about looking like tough bikies, terrorising small towns, ravishing women, making out with mannequins, misusing the crucifix, and creating mayhem for the heck of it. They're led by a bald-headed warrior, Fifi, (Roger Ward), who still believes in heroes and the halls of justice.īut out on the dangerous roads of Victoria, the baddies roam wild and free, amongst them irredeemable cop-killer The Nightrider (Vincent Gil), ready to deliver the mighty hand of vengeance to strike down the unroadworthy - though his girlfriend, (Lulu Pinkus), doesn't share his poetic enthusiasm, especially when Max lures the Nightrider into a crash and a fiery flame-out. Max (called Rockatansky or the Bronze after his badge) is a brave cop, who works with a gang of good guys, most notably The Goose (Steve Bisley). In this lawless, broken, violent society, the cops wear leather, drive souped up vehicles of their own, carry sawn-off shotties, and act like crazed vigilantes - and they're the good guys. In a few years time, wild outlaws roam the range, stealing petrol to fuel their wheels. ![]()
